Privacy Policy

How RateLogiq collects, uses, shares and retains information from visitors to this site and from people who send a contact request.

What this policy covers

This policy applies to ratelogiq.com and to information collected through it, including the contact-request form, the calculators, and any email, text or phone follow-up that begins with a request made here. It does not cover the practices of lenders, settlement providers or other companies you may be introduced to; those companies have their own privacy notices. Contact details for questions about this policy are on the Contact page.

Information we collect

We collect only what is needed to respond to a request and run the site. The categories are:

  • Contact-request fields. Name, email address, phone number, the state where the property is located, the goal you select, and any message you write. Some fields are required to send a request; the form says which.

  • Ranges you choose. The form asks for ranges rather than exact figures, such as an approximate loan amount range, a credit-score range, how you are paid and your time frame. These describe your situation so a person can review it. They are not verified and they are not a loan application.

  • Attribution. Which page the request came from, the referring site, campaign labels and UTM parameters in the link you arrived through, and an identifier for the campaign or experiment variant. This tells us which marketing brought you here.

  • Analytics. When analytics is enabled, pages viewed, approximate location derived from your network address, device and browser type, and interactions such as calculator use. Analytics data is aggregated wherever possible.

  • Technical logs. Network address, browser identifier and timestamps recorded by our hosting and security providers, including the result of the automated security check that protects the form from bots.

  • Calculator inputs. Figures you enter into a calculator are processed in your browser to produce the estimate. They are not sent to us unless you choose to include them in a contact request.

We do not ask for Social Security numbers, account numbers, dates of birth or documents through this site. If a loan request proceeds, that information is collected later through a separate, secured application process that carries its own disclosures.

How we use it

  • To respond to your request, review your scenario and discuss financing options with you.
  • To contact you by the methods you consented to when you sent the request.
  • To match your request to programs and, when you ask us to proceed, to the lenders and service providers involved in the loan.
  • To measure which marketing works, improve the site and fix problems.
  • To protect the site and its users from fraud, abuse and automated traffic.
  • To meet legal and regulatory obligations, including the record-keeping rules that apply to mortgage professionals.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with lead aggregators or other marketers in exchange for payment or anything else of value.
  • We do not share mobile phone numbers or text-message opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Consent to receive texts is not transferred to anyone else.
  • We do not use the information in a contact request for any purpose unrelated to the request without asking you first.
  • We do not run automated eligibility decisions on the information you submit. A person reads it.

Service providers who process data for us

We rely on a small number of providers to run the site and deliver requests. Each processes information only to provide its service to us.

  • Email delivery. A transactional email service carries contact requests to us and confirmations to you.

  • Hosting, content delivery and security. The site is served through a hosting and edge network that also provides the automated security check on forms. These providers see network addresses and technical logs.

  • Analytics and advertising tags, when enabled. If analytics or advertising measurement is enabled, those providers set the cookies or pixels described in the next section. This section will name each provider in use, and the policy date will change when one is added.

  • Lenders and settlement providers. Only when you ask us to pursue a loan request, and only the information needed to do so. Those companies are independent and are bound by their own privacy obligations.

  • Professional advisers and authorities. Lawyers, accountants and regulators, where required to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the site and its users.

If the practice is ever sold or merged, information may transfer to the successor, which will be bound by this policy or by one at least as protective.

Cookies, pixels and how to opt out

The site uses a small set of essential cookies and browser storage to keep the site working, remember choices such as a dismissed announcement, and pass the security check. These cannot be turned off without breaking the features they support.

When analytics or advertising measurement is enabled, additional tags may set cookies or load pixels from those providers to measure visits and conversions. You can control these in several ways:

  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings, which also clears any preference we stored.
  • Use the opt-out tools offered by the analytics or advertising provider, which will be linked from this section when a provider is enabled.
  • Send a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser. We honor it where applicable law requires us to, and intend to honor it generally.
  • Ask us directly through the Contact page to stop measurement tied to your request.

Text messages and mobile communications

If you provide a mobile number and consent to text messages, we may text you about your request. Consent is never a condition of receiving service, message frequency depends on your request, and message and data rates from your carrier may apply. Reply STOP to end messages and HELP for assistance at any time. The full text-message terms in force are published with this policy and on the Terms of Use page. As stated above, mobile opt-in data is not shared with third parties for marketing.

How long we keep information

  • Contact-request payloads. The contents of a request are emailed to us and, so that nothing is lost if delivery fails, also held in an encrypted queue on our hosting platform for up to fourteen days, after which the encrypted copy is erased. A short, non-reversible hash of your email and phone number is kept for about ten minutes to catch accidental double submissions. The copy we receive by email is kept for as long as we are working with you and for the period our record-keeping obligations require.

  • Operational metadata. Delivery logs, timestamps, attribution, the goal and property state you chose, the security-check result and the consent record (time, page, network address and browser identifier) are retained for up to ninety days to diagnose problems, evidence consent and measure marketing, then deleted or aggregated.

  • Analytics data. Retained according to the provider’s settings, which we configure to the shortest period that still allows measurement.

  • Loan records. If a request becomes a loan file, the file is kept for as long as federal and state law require mortgage professionals to keep it.

Your rights and choices

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to us through the Contact page. We will verify that the request comes from you before acting on it, and respond within the time applicable law allows. We will not treat you differently for exercising a privacy right.

Residents of states with consumer privacy laws may have additional rights, including the right to know the categories of information collected and shared, the right to opt out of certain sharing, and the right to appeal a decision on a request. Where those laws apply to us, we honor them. Because we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context advertising, there is currently nothing to opt out of on that front; if that changes, this section and a clear opt-out will be updated first.

You can stop marketing email at any time using the link in any message, and stop texts by replying STOP. Doing so does not affect messages that are needed to complete a request you have asked us to work on.

Children

This site is intended for adults seeking mortgage financing. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under eighteen. If you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Requests are sent over encrypted connections, form submissions are protected by an automated security check, and access to delivered requests is limited to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur, but we take reasonable measures to prevent it and will notify affected people as the law requires if it does.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when our practices change, including when analytics or advertising measurement is first enabled. The date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted here, and where the law requires it, you will be notified directly.

Contact

Questions, requests and complaints about privacy can be sent through the Contact page, which lists the current ways to reach the practice. Licensing details are on the Licensing & Disclosures page.
